People at game night touching my games without permission
So, last Saturday our Discord group had our monthly game night at a game cafe in our city. I brought a few games including Magical Athlete. Other people also brought their own games.
Something I like to do on game day, is send the games I’m bringing to hype folks up. So I did that last Saturday as well.
Now, as I said a lot of other folks brought their gakes and we also borrowed some games from the shop as well. We had a great time. I placed all my games on the table like I always do, and usually people would ask me or if they don’t know I own the game, they would ask the table in general who owns the games because they would like to play it. And I am always ALWAYS more than happy to share my games and play with other folks.
The issue is that last Saturday, these two girls took my copy of Magical Athlete, didn’t bother to ask who owns it, and started playing with their group. Which honestly bothered me because:
- They didn’t ask. I would have lent it to you.
- They didn’t even bother inviting me to play.
- Completely ignored me. I said hi to them when they arrived and they ignored me.
- Benefit of the doubt that they didn’t know it was mine: I approached them when they were packing up, and asked “u done?” They said a no eye contact “thank you” and no “oh! This is yours? Sorry to take it without your permission.”
So, I guess this is more of a rant that I felt disrespected and I felt uncomfortable how they were touching my stuff without my permission. Because I would never do what they did if I wanted to play someone else’s board game. Has something like this happened to you? What did you do?
