Where to book Beijing’s forbidden city tickets?

I’m travelling to Beijing from 25 June to 4 July and I’m looking to book tickets for the Forbidden City. I’ve read that it sells out very quickly, so I’m wondering if I should:

1. Book your ticket on Klook or Trip. I noticed their system automatically books the ticket from the official website. If they’re unable to do so, they’ll cancel and refund your order at the last minute. I’m a bit worried though, as I’m afraid they’ll inform me very late and I might miss out on the chance to book another ticket.

2. Book it in the official WeChat mini program. Some travel guides suggest this, but the downside is that it might be very competitive, and I might not be able to snag the ticket myself.

For those who’ve been through this process before, what’s the most seamless and best way to go about it?
