Can you ever win without paying a huge price?
My husband wants to stay in his job, resist, grey rock, build allies in the staff ( he is in ed position) but he was brought from US , very different management culture. He says he is not a quitter.
We have moved to the other side of the world, a very complicated and expensive move and visa process.
He was lied about the financials of the org, board has treated him badly, chairperson batshit crazy, gaslighting, etc. Every symptom possible.rd ED in 3 years.
But the locals close rank, he is the foreigner on a short term 5 year contract. No contract = no visa for him or me. One year was done and he is due for his yearly work perf eval.
We have already spent a fortune on lawyers getting advice, they all advised to leave the country, accept a modest settlement. He won’t’ accept, want a settlement that shows “ respect” , has super high blood pressure, the anxiety I experience is through the roof ( thanks lexomil!) .
I think I his ego is getting in the way of the reality - he wanted the title, the big prestigious job, the last hurrah in a beautiful carrier ( he is 66) - but I keep telling him, the narc won’t change, he is their employee, and neither the board nor the staff , they need they jobs of course, wiill be on his side.
How can I convince him to cut our losses and move back home?
