Honest question from an atheist: How does it feel to watch SG1 as a believer in God?
Hey fellow Tau'ri,
I am doing a rewatch of SG1 and a thought crossed my mind.
I am an atheist, so the core premise of villains like the Goa'uld and the Ori using advanced tech or ascended powers to masquerade as false gods fits perfectly into my worldview.
For those of you who are religious and believe in God, how does this central theme land for you?
Do you separate science fiction from your faith and enjoy it purely as entertainment?
I am not looking to start a toxic theological debate. I am just genuinely curious about how your personal lens changes the viewing experience of a show we all love.
Looking forward to your perspectives!
