Need honest advice about whether I should prepare for bank exams

General Query

my mom has always wanted me to atleast sit for bank exams once in my life regardless of whether I clear it or not.

I just finished my 3rd yr of btech and am home for summer vacation for a month, after which my placement training and tests will start in college.

today, my mom sat and told me that I should start preparing to answer bank exams in 2027 (after I graduate and become 21). she said that it's not that difficult and if I put in 2 hrs of preparation daily for the next year I could easily clear it cause it's just aptitude, english and gk. she also said that banks hire btech graduates for it and software related roles, so I could apply for those.

so I did some research cause I have no idea what actually "bank exams" are. it seems that based on my engineering background I should sit for IBPS SO IT exam and it has prelims and mains exams. Prelims is aptitude, etc and mains is all dbms, os, etc. also there seems to be an interview round after the papers.

now what I want to know is that is it really as doable as my mom is making it seem? cause I scrolled a lot of posts in this sub and saw some previous year papers and mock tests, and ngl I'm getting flashbacks of my jee prep (which was NOT the best time- I'm part of the 10th during Covid batch so my 12th and jee were as good as they could've been).

honestly, I've heard about all the perks bank employees get and it definitely sounds awesome but I just want to know how difficult it is and is it really worth putting in my time and effort?

any and all advice, warnings, etc is very very welcome
