What is it about TF2 that attracts the most unhinged horror creations that are actually better than the horror we get nowadays?

Like Emesis Blue, Serverblight, the Anomalies? Seems better than the shoddy gore and jumpscare-bait that horror is nowadays. Like an actually good mix of Horror and Terror. Similar to the Herobrine stuff, or Event Horizon.
