Johnny Birthstone Necklace

Doing a rewatch - I'm a bit confused, Google has Marissa's birthday as May 4, 1988. However, I thought Sadie pointed to the amethyst stone on the necklace as being Marissa's birthstone (and Johnny's as the Peridot for August). Did anyone else see pick up on this... or am I totally off base?
