AIO to my sisters response when I tried to set a boundary?
So, I'm not even sure if what I was trying to do was boundary setting. Last night I (F 21) was talking with my two sisters M (F 32) and E (F 22). During the conversation I said something unimportant to M. She didn't respond or acknowledge. I asked if she heard me after I laughingly told E, M had zoned out. She seemed to get a but miffed when I explained I don't know if people gave heard me if they don't do some form if acknowledgement. Like just a hum or a head nod. I want to stress I'm not expecting people to hang off my words. It really wasn't anything important.
After M seemed a tiny bit miffed he went upstairs. I admit feeling ignored is triggering for me. Stupid trauma from parents. But that's another story. I was getting worked up, so I quickly went upstairs.
I sent a very cringe and messy text explaining I was triggered and would it be OK if M and E just did breif acknowledgement in the future. E was unfazed and was essentially like "cool no worries."
M however essentially said the following;
I triggered her by asking for acknowledgement I've been heard during a conversation.
And that she's autistic so she can't do what is societally acceptable.
I felt shitty after reading that. I've not replied because I've been upset and don't want to risk being a peice of work.
So AIO?
