**I like crystal islet.** The type of song is on par with my tastes and it sounds good! But since it dropped a lot of people have criticized it with things about how the roster is so peak, which it is, and it was very underwhelming given the opportunity it had, and i sadly know the cause of this.

Now before i do say this let me clarify, I'm a lover of MSM fanmade content, i love the creativity of the community and seeing fanmade predictions of islets, islands, and just monsters in general is so cool to me. But with the release of crystal islet it unfortunately solidified a sad side effect of fanmade content.

That side effect being *fanon to canon*. When people watch the insanely good and detailed predictions of islets, those concepts get rooted into their minds, and when the official version drops its almost always gonna be different from the version(s) that the community made. If a person is locked into their own preferred version of what the islet should be.. they'll automatically reject what it IS.

If a fan had gone into the update completely blind without seeing any fan predictions, maybe they would have thought ***"oh wow this is pretty cool!"*** The fanmade predictions unfortunately poisoned the well for the official release.

The fanmade predictions are **GOOD**, i enjoy watching them, but they're making a bar of expectations so high that BBB wont be able to reach since they have more on their plate. BBB has to not only make the islet, the song, the animations, and all of its cool side animations, they have to do one CORE thing.. Optimize. Remember, MSM is a game that has to be able to run on a mobile device as well as a PC. Its honestly a miracle MSM can run as smoothly as it can on mobile given the amount of things that are in the game as is.

A lot of the community isn't judging crystal islet for what it is, they're judging it against what it could have been, and their vision of what it could have been is just comparing it to the predictions.

At the end of the day, i just dont think it should be about ***"this persons version is better than the official thing which means BBB is lazy!"*** or ***"BBB spent all of the budget on the islet design and it clearly shows!"*** and more about just giving constructive criticism on things that can/should actually be improved. *We* know BBB does actually listen to a lot of feedback from the community, so instead of outright calling it bad and saying ***"This sucks."*** we should be providing them with actual things to improve on. Its clear the islets are BBB's way of trying new things, and its our job as a community to let them know if it sticks or not.

*Ty for coming to my ted talk.*

[Hot Take Apparently] Crystal Islet [apparently] revealed a sad piece of the MSM community.
