Nurse dealing with grief, depressjone and anxiety 🥲
So, I've been working in the Icu since i graduated with my RN last year. I'm almost a year in buy I think working in ICU after losing my dad ( last year right before I graduated with my RN ) and watching him go through ICU care himself affected me more than I realized. Between grief, the constant trauma/codes/death, toxic work environment, and feeling emotionally isolated at work, I feel like my mental health has completely declined this past year. I’ve been dealing with panic attacks, dread before shifts, depersonalization, and depression, and I honestly don’t feel like myself anymore. I’m starting to realize bedside ICU may not fit who I am emotionally, and I’m trying to figure out where to go from here. I'm so lost, I'm sad, I'm in pain. I still have a month left before I finish my residency and I'm literally crawling on my knees to the finish line. I'm so depressed.
