Hey 👋

I'll be upfront: I come from a professional background in psychological counseling, and I've also spent years on the other side of the couch — as a client in psychoanalysis. So I know firsthand how transformative real therapy can be, and also how financially out of reach it is for most people.

Like many of you, I watched the rise of AI emotional support companions with real hope. But as a counselor, I kept noticing the same problem: they're too nice. Like, genuinely harmful levels of nice. Give them your trauma for 2 hours and they'll easily validate you into a loop.

Endless validation and unconditional coddling can feel good in the moment — but they don't help a person grow internally or build real independence. Genuine emotional growth requires structure, gentle friction, and meaningful reflection.

So we built **Kubi's Cove**.

The idea: an AI companion (Kubi) that operates within a certain framework — so it's not just winging it with empathy, it's actually trying to help you develop some inner independence. We've put a lot of thought into preventing the "sycophancy spiral" that most AI companions fall into.

But it's also genuinely fun? The app is framed as a little island. There are other characters:

* 🥥 **Help Kubi** with tasks and earn coconuts
* 🌙 **Luna** reads your BaZi chart and birth chart — not just "you're a Scorpio lol" but actually finding comfort and meaning in fate the way traditional wisdom intended

We're actively building. New stories and features dropping regularly.

💬 We'd love your help

Your feedback matters more than you know. Come explore the island. Tell us what feels right, what feels off, and what you'd want to see next.

I'll be in the comments if you have questions — about the psychology behind it, the design, the tech, anything. Happy to get into it.

Thanks for checking it out 🌴
