2 years of learning. Where it all began
After two years of diving deep into the world of software engineering.
I’ve built many things since I started, but I wanted to post about the project that started it all: LockSave.
LockSave wasn't just a tutorial project ,it was my first real challenge in building a full-stack system that handled real-world logic:
✅ The Core: A MERN stack application (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js).
✅ The Logic: Implementing a digital "locker" system where assets are held until a specific unlock date.
✅ The Integration: My first time working with Razorpay for secure payment processing.
✅ The Automation: Setting up server-side cron jobs to handle payouts automatically.
Looking back at this code today, I see so many things I would do differently now (especially regarding security and architecture), but this project taught me how to connect the dots between the frontend and the backend.
It’s been a long journey from "Hello World" to building functional apps, and I’m excited to finally start sharing my progress with this community. LockSave
Note : The backend is hosted on Render’s free tier. Please allow 20–30 seconds for the initial server spin-up.
I’d love to hear what was your very first real project?
