Most UAE students don’t actually know what their major is like before fully committing to it?
I’ve been speaking to university students in UAE universities recently and noticed something interesting:
Most students chose majors based on:
- "parents"
- "reputation"
- "friends"
- "salary assumptions"
But very few actually spoke to someone currently studying the degree.
I’m building a platform called unispov.com ("point of view") where UAE school students and parents can have peer to peer talk with current university students before choosing majors.
The idea is simple: before making a lifetime decision on your major and university, talk directly to someone living it right now
My question to the community:
- Would this be helpful for school students before choosing their major? speaking to several students across different majors or within same major before a lifetime commitment
