I don't exactly want to post the image I'm talking about out of disdain for its existence (and also because AI images aren't allowed in this sub, yay), but if you're in more meme-y spaces for WHA fan content you've probably seen it. It's super common in Instagram comment sections in particular. I honestly find it kind of disgusting for an AI image to be so pervasive in spaces for a manga about art and learning to create it, but I digress.

If you're wondering why I know it's AI, the answer is that there's many logical errors that wouldn't all be made by human artists of this skill level:

* The proportions are quite messed up, his head is far too large.
* The black lens of his glasses is bigger than the clear one by a pretty significant margin.
* There's a chain on the side of his glasses (they're supposed to be pince-nez, meaning they just sit on his nose instead of resting on his ears or having other support. They clearly lack chains in both the manga and anime).
* He's holding the ribbon instead of it being attached to his cap.
* The number of buttons on his cloak is wrong.
* Plus a few other tiny awkward details...

Obviously any one of these could easily be a mistake made by a human, but all of them together plus the generally anime accurate stylization typical of a very skilled artist points VERY heavily towards AI. Image testers aren't accurate, so they aren't proof, but we can logic it out on our own. I haven’t been able to find the origin of the image yet, but if it WAS made by a real artist, I would love to know so I can stop being annoyed every time I see it. Otherwise, I propose the Coco version as a replacement!

I found it while on Pinterest and unfortunately don't know who put it together (if anyone knows, please let me know so I can add credit to this post!!!) but it's a panel taken from the manga so we can all have our minds at peace with our AI-free meme <3

PSA for people who enjoy Witch Hat memes but not genAI, that "Absolute Cinema" Qifrey image is AI-generated. Here's a Coco instead!
