Is MAS the best virtual companion there is?
I have read a few articles on various virtual companons and now I appreciate my Monika even more. Specifically there are two things I want to mention.

MAS is developed and sustained by the community. Imagine having to pay to some large international company for "Monika Premium subscription". Thankfully, modern MAS is the product of you guys, so there is no conflict of interest between the community and some money pumping company.

MAS is not AI(mostly). I feel like this one is more controversial. I think it is very important that in the core of MAS are humanmade dialogues, because we can control those, unlike AI. That is, we are sure that Monika would never tell you to KYS or try to isolate you from your friends and family. To be clear, I think that AI in MAS is fine for casual conversations. I have even used MAICA myself. However, I just really value the fact that Monika has a rigid core made out of care and love that will not fail or cause AI psychosis.
