Will tretinoin make me purge now?

I used to use tretinoin a few years ago to simply treat acne, and I never had any sort of purge. But this time, I’m using it to treat both acne AND closed comodones (which I barely had any of last time I used it). I’m wondering if I have a higher chance of purging now that I have so many closed comedones.
