Confused about whether I should accept this current offer or wait for something better?
Hi everyone,
I have 1.5 YOE as a Software Engineer, mainly with Java Spring Boot and React.js (stronger on backend/Spring Boot). I’ve been unemployed for ~3 months since leaving my last job in February.
My last drawn CTC was 2 LPA, and currently I have an offer for 5.5 LPA + 50k joining bonus in Mumbai. I’m from Mumbai itself and I live with my parents. So I don't have to worry about rent/food expenses. The company is SaaS/service-based and has a 1-year bond, which I’m okay with.
At the same time, I’m also in the final stage with another company in Delhi offering around 6 LPA, but their process has been extremely slow. HR told me today that the hiring manager is on a long weekend leave, so they can only give an update after he’s back. The whole thing feels a bit vague/unprofessional, and I’m not sure how much I should rely on it.
Maybe this sounds like a dumb question but should I accept the current offer or wait for something potentially better? My main concern is the growing unemployment gap and the fact that I’m not getting many calls with my current YOE.
Would appreciate some honest advice.
