Gifted a rug tufting kit but I am not sure if I will use it

First let me start out that I do think this hobby/skill is very interesting and I love to see what people make. Like the title; i was gifted a rug tufter and am unsure if it something that I would be very committed to using for a long time. Although it is very thoughtful and I am so thankful I am not sure what to do so I thought I would ask here. Is it a hobby for everyone and if so has anyone known to drop out of it? Im unsure how to even begin.
