First ever World Sailing Day - 28 May 2026

It's the first ever World Sailing Day. So we asked our skippers, our crew, and our 30 years of guests one question: What did sailing teach you

️"Patience. The wind comes when it comes." - Our skipper, aboard Grand Soleil 52

"That my kids can survive without Wi-Fi." - Family of four, Dufour 470

"How small your problems are when you're looking at the horizon." - First-time sailor, Elan 50.1

"To trust the crew. On a boat and in life." - Returning guest, Hanse 508

"That the best holidays don't need a plan." - Couple from Vienna, Sun Odyssey 449

Different boats. Different people. Same lesson every time — the sea gives you back more than you bring to it.

After 30 years of putting people on the water, we learned one thing. There's a moment — right after leaving the marina — when the world goes quiet. The sails fill. The boat leans. And everything that felt urgent an hour ago just... isn't anymore.

What did sailing teach YOU? Drop it in the comments.

Happy first World Sailing Day. Here's to many more.
