While I'm building my XRP based RLUSDT Exchange
I spent a weekend going through every XRP ETF filing. Here's what the data actually tells you (and what nobody's talking about).
There are now 5 spot XRP ETFs trading in the US. Most people just look at price. I looked at the custody numbers. Here's what's interesting:
ETF custody math:
— $1B in AUM = ~500M XRP tokens locked
— Current AUM ~$1.53B = ~765M XRP in ETF custody
— At $5B AUM (still small vs BTC ETFs): ~2.5B XRP locked
— That's more XRP than every crypto exchange combined holds today
Fee breakdown nobody talks about:
— Franklin Templeton (XRPZ): 0.19% — lowest, free until June 2026
— Rex-Osprey (XRPR): 0.75% — highest
— Difference on $100k: $675/year
The concentration stat that should concern you:
84% of XRP ETF assets are still retail. Goldman's $153.8M is real, but it's one player. Institutional adoption is early, not mature.
The Japan signal everyone's sleeping on:
Japan reclassified XRP as a financial instrument in April 2026. SBI Holdings is targeting ¥5 trillion (~$34B) in future Bitcoin and XRP products. Japanese pension funds manage $3 trillion. This market hasn't opened yet.
Bull case isn't here. But the infrastructure for it is being built quietly.
Save this post for when the next price pump makes everyone forget the fundamentals.
