Documentary niche - how to source clips?

Hi Guys,
Trying to create my first YouTube video. No prior social media experience so totally starting from scratch here. Wanted to ask - for people into the true crime niche, how are they able to source footage so easily? Have a video in mind and have looked at internet archives, etc to no avail. Would really appreciate some guidance, thank you!
