After using both dimensity 9500s and snapdragon 8 gen 5 devices, I think people are overrating peak benchmarks way too much
Genuinely expected the snapdragon 8 gen 5 phone to feel untouchable because of all the benchmark hype around it
but after a week of gaming, emulator testing, and general multitasking, dimensity 9500s device felt more consistent most of the time
the snapdragon phone was crazy fast initially, no denying that. but once thermals kicked in during longer sessions, the performance dips became noticeable way faster than I expected for a flagship tier chip. esp in emulation and heavier games where sustained gpu load matters
meanwhile the dimensity 9500s device just stayed… stable. less dramatic peaks maybe, but also fewer moments where the phone suddenly felt like it was trying not to melt 😭
Starting to feel like mediatek is optimizing more for real world sustained usage while qualcomm is still obsessed with benchmark flexes sometimes
