Scams are getting better by the day but the advice is always the same..

Don’t click any links. Don’t unsubscribe - it’ll make it worse. No, you weren’t hacked - they just found your info from old data breaches and they’re trying to scare you now.

For people who often deal with this stuff, it’s obvious. But for a lot of people, it really isn’t.

I may have a solution though. I built sentrya.net to add another protection layer on top of Gmail’s standard filter, which combines a few things:
- whitelist important senders
- keep emails in languages you actually speak
- review unknown senders separately before they hit your inbox + a few more

In my case, where I used to get more than 300 emails a week, most of them scams and other junk, I managed to get it down to only 2-3 a day, which I actually want to see and are important.

The app is free if you want to try it, and you can also clean up old accounts and remove yourself from data brokers (on higher tiers)
