John Wick 4 is like a victory for both sides
I was simply thinking about the fact that John Wick 4 is where both sides get what they want and win.
How John wins: He escapes from all obligations to the table and becomes free despite breaking the rules. Of course he has to go hell and back for it but he still manages to prevail. His enormous struggle of trying to stay alive after breaking the rules pays off. (Would have if he allowed himself to be medically treated right after)
He does get to remember Helen for the rest of his life. (Which was like 5 minutes but still)
How the High Table wins: John dies from his injuries, which wasn’t the way they intended him to go, but still their mission of executing John did eventually succeed. They also prove that John had to call a duel to use the Table’s own rules to escape them, so it’s their integrity and them honouring their rules, not John’s skill that allows him to be free. John didn’t finish the table, he simply got them off his back.
