Glad to upgraded from LG G5 to Hisense U7

Discussion - Equipment

I recently switched from my LG G5 OLED to the Hisense U7, and honestly, the experience surprised me more than I expected.

For the longest time, I thought OLED was basically the final destination for TVs. The black levels are amazing, and in a dark room it still looks incredible. But after moving to a brighter living room setup, I started realizing OLED wasn’t perfect for the way.

Our living room has huge windows, so daytime brightness matters a lot. Watching sports or YouTube during the afternoon on the G5 could be frustrating sometimes because of reflections and limited brightness in really bright scenes. The U7 performs much better in terms of anti-reflective properties, and the colors remain vibrant even in bright scenes.

Another reason I made the switch was peace of mind. My family leaves static content on the screen all the time, like news channels, sports scoreboards, game HUDs, paused screens, etc. With the new screen, I don't have to worry about burn-in issues. Plus, it seems to have hardware-level blue light protection, which is a nice bonus for the kids' eyes during long movie nights. Connecting to speakers is also convenient.

We bought the 100-inch for $2800; it might have been more cost-effective during promotions or holiday discounts.
