Is the BTD-1 good in 2026?
I'm fairly new to War Thunder, I grinded the USA tree up to Tier 3 but progress is so slow I'm trying to get a premium vehicle so I don't have to grind hundreds of matches to unlock new planes/tiers .I have 5k GE and don't know what to spend them on.
So far I've liked planes with big guns like the P-51 and dislike planes like the P-51D-5 and all mustangs in general. I've heard the XP-50 is very good but I hate the design and I don't want to play that plane for more than 1 match no matter how good it is.
I'm considering the BTD-1 as I love the whale design and it has big guns and I also can destroy some ground enemies. I've also tested the Spitfire LF Mk IXc, Fw 190 A-8 and FR-1 Fireball in test flight and like them all but not as much as the BTD-1.
Do y'all think the BTD-1 is a good plane? and if not, what plane do y'all recommend in the USA Tier 3/4 rank? My playstyle right now is just get altitude and then drop down and kill one or two planes and then retreat and go for ground targets.
Also I'd like it to not get me paired with higher tier ranked planes too and give good xp to unlock planes ofc.
