Bring last year’s wood to the front of the shed?
Our shed holds 4 cords of wood, each winter we usually use 3. Our wood is delivered to us and we’re told it’s seasoned. We’ve tested it regularly for moisture and haven’t had concerns. Before we start stacking new wood in the spring, we haul out the leftover wood that was in the shed to put the newest wood in the back.
We never asked why, we just assumed it was how everyone does it. *Does* everyone else do this? Or are we overthinking it? We’re up for the challenge, but I’m not gonna lie - our backs hurt.
If we are doing it the right way, any suggestions for making it easier?
We live in Northern Vermont and it’s somewhat humid. We start using the stove late October and end around early April.
