Is he giving me mixed signals or is he just being nice?

Hi guys! So this close guy friend I met almost a year ago. He is so nice and everything. When we first met I always used to get this feeling that he likes me. (His friend confirmed that he liked me back then I was his type. Chubby and cute apparently). Moving on after almost a year we have started talking (not daily) but whenever we do it becomes so flirty.. or idk is it just me who feels the spice. Do guys feel the tension when it's happening late at night?. He calls me mommy and I call him my good boy or sometimes my baby. He really leans into it.

The other day he said mid conversation you are not weird well you are but I love that. I love your weirdness. That kinda made me blush.

And something happened as well like he asked me not to talk to a guy cuz that guy friend was making me uncomfortable. I told him about that guy uncomfortable remarkes and he DM him. Told him to stay away from me. And he asked me to block him. Long story short I replied to that guy again after a few days (I forgave him cuz that guy kept saying sorry so I blocked him without waiting for his reply).when he got to know this he immediately wrote me paragraphs(mind u he is a very nonchalant idgaf type of guy). I apologized to him again and again and he said there shouldn't be a next time. Tbh after that his behavior is a bit sober. He is not engaging as much.

Guys what do you think? I am mid of a storm idk how to handle.... I like him ofc why else would I accept him calling me with a sexual name. Uhhh but he also ships me with his other friend jokingly (we all are friends). But also give staring competition to guys who stare at me.

We were making a video... I sat on left side.. other guy friend was in middle and he was on right side. Later when I saw the video my eyes popped out. It was a random video but in the video when I was laughing or straightening my hair he kept looking at me and smiling. (Other guy friend wasn't he was in his own thing).

But I found out he was in a talking stage with another girl and he even said she is so cool and she might become my bff. He didn't said he liked her or anything but my guy friend said maybe he does. But sike she got a bf now. Ahhhh idkkkk help meee!!!

Idk what kinda man behavior is this?!?!?! Help me identify. Why so many mixed signals. He gets crazy when he hears about any relationship rumor about me. Does he think of me as a sister or a friend. He said I am his closest friend.
