Nobody warned me that a breakup also means cleaning up your whole digital life

venting/ranting

I knew emotional part of a breakup would be hard. I expected the photos, the gifts, the old messages, all of that. What I didn’t expect was how weird the digital cleanup would feelShared Netflix profile. Spotify family plan. Food delivery memberships. Cloud folders full of trip photos. Random subscriptions where I had to figure out whose card was even being charged. Game accounts. A shared email we made once for bills and then forgot aboutThe strangest part is that it’s practical and emotional at the same time. You’re trying to be normal and responsible, but then removing a saved address somehow feels heavier than it should.I’m starting to think digital boundaries should be part of relationships much earlier. Not in a cold way, more like “future me might really appreciate this being clean if life gets messy.”Did anyone else feel weirdly overwhelmed by this part ?
