Are college clubs really helpful for tech growth?

in my experience, college clubs actually have quite a positive influence on tech development provided one is active in these clubs rather than being there just for the purpose of being there since, most of the time, that’s when one gets to experience hackathons, coding competitions, workshops, open-source projects, and working in teams apart from academic activities, a lot of people seem to learn much faster in clubs because they are constantly surrounded by people who work hard on developing things, clubs are useful for networking, leadership skills, and overall communication because you will be working with various individuals at clubs on organizing events and projects, I guess you learn the basics in class, while the rest you figure out in clubs as an engineer.
