3/24/27 - 4/6/27 First Trip

Advice

We take each of our kids on a trip of their choosing the spring break before graduation and our son has decided on Japan. We’ve only ever traveled to Europe so this is our first time in Asia and it seems a bit overwhelming so far! There will be 4 of us going - myself, my wife, our son (17 at time) and a friend of his (17 at the time). We’re flying from IAD to HND and will be doing the standard Tokyo > Kyoto > Osaka route, taking trains between each city. We aren’t into the nitty-gritty of planning each day out yet but I did want to work on getting accommodations figured out and booked since we know it will be cherry blossom season and everything I read said book as early as you can.

A lot of hotel rooms in finding seem to only accommodate 3. Are there any recommendations for hotels in popular areas that will fit 4 adults? I had also seen mention of some aparthotel options that were fairly reasonable, but I can’t remember the names. If anyone has any suggestions we’d greatly appreciate it!

Thanks in advance!
