CMV: I truly do not believe dating is really any harder than it has been in the last 30 years, but I see plenty of people complaining about it…

I feel like a lot of the complaints I hear aren’t really any different than ever. And that most people that “struggle”today, would have struggled years and years ago.

Hot people get more attention and have it “easier”… apps didn’t create that fact, it’s just what it is for us.

Girls have more autonomy and less societal pressures, neither things are bad… at most they change expectations in a partner, but those expectations are maybe easier now.

Some people still prioritize looks, money, status… again, nothing has changed.

Lack of third places… you guys aren’t approaching people now, why do you think you would be 25 years ago?

I think the real problem is expectations of how “easy” dating is supposed to be has changed, and I’m not sure why.

Edit: I think some people are trying to point to the fact that people today might be less socially adjusted and more socially awkward. But I look at it like if people are worse drivers today, that doesn’t mean the cars are worse… just the people in them.
