Hi, I posted a question last night, but it was removed because apparently you can't mention a rabbit's eating habits during a heatwave without the autobot slapping your wrist and removing the post while telling you to go to see a vet (he's still eating, just not a huge amount of hay, not "go to a vet" territory).

It's currently 27c in my room where my rabbit free roams, he's got long-ish fur so gets hot quite easily. I've got the blinds and curtains closed, but if you know anything about UK houses, you'll know that they trap heat like crazy and are a nightmare to cool down. I don't have AC. Currently, a desk fan is circulating air, and my boy Drax does sit in its path when he feels like it. I've given him a good brush to hopefully make it a bit easier on him, but he's still pretty hot to the touch on his ears. I dampened his ears last night as I was pretty worried when I made the OG post.

I've got a cooling mat coming today and a freezable bottle (actually made for guinea pigs, but I figured it'd be functionally the exact same, if not a bit small) coming in the next few days. 

But other than that, I was wondering if any other UK based bun parents have any suggestions. It seems to be way hotter inside this year, for some reason. Has anybody tried using an air cooler? Not an air conditioner, but an air cooler that uses ice to cool the air?

I have work so I won't be able to leave the cooling mat down while I'm out, but the fan will be on.

I was opening the window but it seems to be advised against.

safe ways to cool bun while unattended?
