Maybe a weird take, but I think fashion is closer to design and visualisation rather than trends.

I have very bad taste at choosing clothes, even after spending hours on shopping mirror. I end up with the clothes that I regret buying. Then a thought lingering in my mind for a while. I should buy clothes based on my body proportion, skin tone, hair style rather than looking at the colour, fit of the clothes that i like. Sometimes I driven by a movie star or model outfit and think that it will suit me. But its not !

Am I right on this ? Does anybody know any book or something to read about it. Understand and develop such taste ? Or Am I being too nerdy in the book part ?
