Ohio - got hurt at work and workers comp is moving

Ohio

I got hurt at work a few months ago and I am still trying to understand if this is just how workers comp goes or if I am missing something. I work in a warehouse type job, lot of lifting, walking, moving around, nothing fancy. One morning there was a spill or some kind of slick spot near one of the work areas and I went down hard. It happened fast, but I landed awkward and my back took most of it. At first I was embarrassed more than anything, because everyone looks over and you just want to get up and act normal. I told my supervisor, filled out what they gave me, and I went to get checked because by that evening my back was locking up. Workers comp did get opened and treatment has been going through it, so I know I am luckier than people who get denied right away. But the part I did not expect is how much of my life still feels like it is not really being counted. The wage part is less than what I was actually bringing home before, and I have had to change how I do normal things at home. Sitting too long hurts. Driving hurts. I cannot lift stuff the same way. I am moving around like an old man and I am not even old. My job has not been openly hostile, but the mood changed after the claim. People who used to talk normal are suddenly careful around me. HR gives very short answers. My supervisor acts like every restriction is a personal inconvenience. I know they probably deal with claims all the time, but when it is your body and your paycheck, it feels different. The other thing I keep thinking about is whether workers comp is supposed to be the whole answer. I was told it covers medical and part of wages, but it does not really touch the stress, the pain, the way my routine changed, or the fact that I may not be able to go back to the same kind of work if this keeps dragging. I also do not fully understand if it matters that the spill may have been caused by another crew or outside contractor, because I have heard people mention third party claims but I do not know when that actually applies. I am not trying to get rich off this or make drama at work. I just want to make sure I am not quietly accepting less than I should because I do not understand the process. Has anyone here had a workers comp claim where treatment was approved, but the wage loss and long term impact still felt way bigger than what comp was covering?
