Passport surname is RAMACHANDRAN but all Indian records show Gokul R C — will this cause issues internationally?

Legal Advice Needed

Hi, I’m from TN

My name in almost all Indian government records is Gokul R C (earlier it was written as R.C Gokul in some older records). This includes my marksheets, degree certificates, Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence, and almost everything else.

In all these records, my father’s name is written as Ramachandran (including Aadhaar). Since my Aadhaar was linked with my educational records long ago, and Aadhaar is now connected to almost every document, changing my name or initials in Indian records now would create a lot of complications.

The issue is with my passport: Given Name: GOKUL Surname: RAMACHANDRAN Father’s Name: RAMACHANDRAN So technically, my passport name appears as Gokul Ramachandran, while all my Indian records use Gokul R C

I haven’t used my passport anywhere yet. Now I’m confused about whether: I should keep the passport as it is, with RAMACHANDRAN as surname, or Change it to RAMA CHANDRAN. But if I change it to “RAMA CHANDRAN,” many international systems may treat: “RAMA” as a middle name, and “CHANDRAN” as the last name.

Also, I don’t think passports usually allow initials like “R C” as surname. So is it okay to: Use GOKUL R C for Indian records, and Use GOKUL RAMACHANDRAN internationally?

If international authorities later ask for Indian proof documents, will this difference create problems?

What’s your opinion or suggestion on the best way to handle this?
