Bought a BenQ TH575 for around ₹65,000 ($650\~) mainly for photography, videography, occasional gaming, and movie watching. After using it for a while, I think it’s a pretty solid projector for the price, though there are a few things people should know before buying.

From what I tested, it supports 1080p at 60Hz. The Amazon listing mentioned 4K support, but I could not actually get true 4K output working. Even the official specs seem to point toward native 1080p, so I’m not sure why the listing says 4K. Not a dealbreaker for me since my use case is mostly 1080p content anyway, but worth mentioning.

Brightness is rated around 3800 ANSI lumens and it definitely gets bright enough for dark room movie watching and creative work. I specifically bought it because I wanted to experiment with projection lighting for product photography and video shoots, and it works surprisingly well for that. The throw ratio is also pretty good, so even from a moderate distance it can project a large image.

Gaming performance was also better than expected. Input latency felt low enough for casual gaming and I didn’t notice any major delay while playing.

The projector does get pretty warm during long sessions, but considering it pulls around 250W of power, that’s expected.

Build quality feels decent and the weight is manageable. It should work fine with a ceiling mount setup as well.

One thing I didn’t like was the unboxing experience. The box only included the projector and the power cable. No HDMI cable included, which feels a bit cheap at this price point.

One more funny thing: I spent my entire budget on the projector itself, so I currently don’t own a proper projector screen. Right now I’m using my curtains as a temporary screen setup. Surprisingly usable for now, but I’ll probably invest in a dedicated screen later.

Would love to hear from other TH575 users. Do you think this was a good buy for the price?
