Image Post Scheduler v3.0 - What's new
Image Post Scheduler
v3.0 — Major feature release. Recurring posts, dynamic date tokens, calendar view, templates, and more.
v2.1 - Re-engineered from Devvit Blocks to Devvit Web architecture.
⚠ Posting NSFW images as app account is strictly prohibited and a violation of the terms of service.
A mod tool for Reddit that lets moderators schedule image posts with flair - something Reddit doesn't natively support. Trusted by 165+ communities.
What's New in v3.0
Recurring Posts
- Schedule posts to repeat on preset intervals (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly) or fully custom intervals (every N hours, days, weeks, or months)
- Matches and extends Reddit's native recurring options - for image posts, which Reddit doesn't natively support
- Custom intervals support any value - every 5 hours, every 3 days, every 2 weeks - with perfectly even gaps that never drift or reset at day/month boundaries
- Month-aware scheduling: "every 2 months" from Jan 31 correctly lands on Mar 31, not Mar 28
- Recurring posts survive failures gracefully: if one firing fails, the next one still fires on schedule
- Visual "Recurring" badge in the queue and calendar so recurring posts are instantly recognisable
- Cancel a recurring post at any time to stop all future firings
Dynamic Date Tokens in Titles
- Use
{{date %B %d, %Y}}in your title and it resolves at post time - schedule a recurring post titled "Discussion Thread — {{date %A, %B %d}}" and each firing automatically gets the correct date - Combine with recurring posts to fully automate daily, weekly, or monthly discussion threads with accurate titles
- Timezone-aware: tokens resolve using the post's selected timezone, not UTC - a post scheduled for midnight in New Zealand correctly shows the NZ date even when UTC is still on the previous day
- Supported tokens:
%A(weekday),%a(short weekday),%B(month),%b(short month),%d(day),%m(month number),%Y(year),%y(short year)
Calendar View
- Visual month grid showing all scheduled and recurring posts at a glance
- Click any day to see the posts queued for that date with thumbnails, titles, and times
- Navigate between months with arrow buttons
- Toggle recurring posts on/off to declutter the view
- Custom recurring posts show their calculated firing days accurately across month boundaries
Timezone Picker
- Select any timezone when scheduling. No more mental math
- Converts to UTC automatically under the hood
Clipboard Paste
- Paste an image directly from your clipboard (Ctrl+V / Cmd+V) into the scheduler
- Works alongside drag-and-drop and the file browser
Post Templates
- Save your entire form configuration as a named, reusable template
- Templates store: title, body, flair, post-as preference, sticky, distinguish, and recurrence settings
- Load a template to instantly pre-fill the form, just pick your image and time
- Delete templates with a two-step confirmation
Edit Queued Posts
- Edit the title or flair of a scheduled post inline without cancelling and recreating it
- Pencil icon on each queued item opens an inline edit form
Live Post Preview
- Real-time Reddit-style preview card updates as you type
- Shows subreddit, username, title, flair badge, and image thumbnail as it will appear on Reddit
NSFW Safety
- App account posting is automatically disabled on NSFW subreddits
- Server-side enforcement to comply with Reddit's terms of service
Failed Post Handling
- If a scheduled post fails to publish due to server issues, it's marked with a "Failed" badge in the queue
- The failure is recorded in history with a reason
- Recurring posts continue their schedule even after a failure
- Failed badge clears automatically on the next successful firing
Reliability & Safety
- Queue limit of 50 scheduled posts per subreddit - enforced server-side to prevent runaway scheduling
- Server-side time validation ensures posts are scheduled at least 5 minutes in the future
- Scheduling is atomic: if the job fails to register, the queue entry is cleaned up automatically - no orphaned posts
- Invalid or unrecognised timezones fall back to UTC gracefully instead of crashing
The Story
Running a movie community on Reddit sounds fun - and it is - until release week hits.
Our mod team covers a film industry whose releases land in a timezone far from where most of us live. When three films drop in the same week, that means three discussion posts that need to go live at the right local time: not too early (spoilers for people still in theatres), not too late (the conversation has already moved on). Miss the window and the post feels stale before it starts.
For years this meant one of us setting an alarm, bleary-eyed at 2am, copy-pasting the movie poster, picking the right flair, and hitting submit. Every. Single. Week.
Reddit's built-in post scheduler only supports text and link posts. Image posts - the kind with a proper movie poster front and centre - can't be scheduled natively. The workarounds all involved third-party image hosts, which introduced privacy concerns and friction we didn't want.
This tool was built to solve that exact problem.
What It Does
Image Post Scheduler is a moderator-only tool that lets you:
- Upload an image directly (up to 20 MB) - hosted on Reddit's own CDN, no third-party services
- Write an optional post body
- Pick a post flair from your subreddit's live flair list
- Set a date and time for the post to go live
- Queue multiple posts at different times
- Choose whether the post appears as your account or the app account
- Track what's been posted in the History tab
Everything stays on Reddit's infrastructure. Mods never leave Reddit to use it.

The scheduler opens in a WebView accessible only to moderators.
