Why was she called ‘Freaky Nikki’?

My sister and I were debating back and forth about the meaning of this nickname. I believe the common theory (which is also what my sister believes) is that it pertains to her behavior when she used to do molly in high school or whenever, maybe more so implying that she was some self-destructive party girl of some sorts…my theory is more connected to the book she was writing. This also leads to another question of whether the excerpt she read at the party was from her actual book or if Wish!Nikki used her writing talents to write that up.

So to put us in track with my theory, I want to say that I believe Real Nikki wrote that entire excerpt before the possession. The only thing I’m unsure of is the mention of the willow tree at the end but that could either be a coincidence or something Wish!Nikki added at the last second because at that point of the scene she was looking straight at Bear and not reading from her phone.

ALSO! I don’t think Wish!Nikki had any sort of time nor motivation to write that on her own because she dedicated her whole self to Bear. In a way, it could be possible that she wrote it to please Bear specifically, turning the love story to a fucked up romantic one to get a reaction from him, but idk…the fact that she was reading a book upside down to make herself look ‘normal’ in the living room scene kind of proves to me that maybe she wouldn’t have written a whole story…also the fact that we only see her away from Bear that singular time she stood in place while he went to work.

So back to my theory, assuming that Real Nikki wrote that horror erotica about Hansel and Gretel … it just would be such a fascinating thing for Nikki to do. She seems more private when it comes to her writing and I feel like that’s because maybe she has always liked writing taboo/experimental things but was bullied for it so she hid that part of her and switched her persona up…maybe used party drugs to escape those dark feelings she would have better implemented in her writing. I know the main point of this excerpt is directly connecting it to the cursed and incestuous bond between Nikki and Bear, but I also would like to think that Nikki was more than just a manic pixie girl in a cool/bubbly way but also in a super creative and angsty gothy/witchy way (hence the crystals).

Again, I know this is farfetched and a REACH but wow…we could’ve had a cool ass splatterpunk horror writer in our midst if it was true.
