Best Matchups?

What are Little Mac’s best matchups? Does he have any? Personally, and this is cheating considering he’s literally the absolute worst character in the roster I believe Ganondorf is Little Mac’s best matchup.

Little Mac’s greatest strengths (blitzing ground speed and frame data) capitalizes on Ganon’s worst weaknesses (abysmally slow speed/mobility and frame data) too well. Not to mention, his recovery is even worse and more limited than Little Mac’s. Little Mac can easily weave and bob through most heavies and Ganondorf is the slowest of the slow. Any reckless whiff or swing instantly punished by a Super Armored Smash Attack or Slip Counter.

Ganon’s typical online playerbase seems especially prone to aggressive approaches so a simple quick dash dance back and forth to bait them out also opens up many opportunities. Plus, Ganon can’t just carry Mac off-Stage like Donkey Kong.

Interestingly, if you main or pocket main Little Mac I think he makes for a decent “counter” against Kazuya. Little Mac is extremely oppressive on the ground in his own right and it’s possible to overpower through $5.99 with Super Armor and KO Punch pressure.
