The speed limit is absurdly slow and everyone knows it

Nobody actually drives the speed limit. Even the people who are the most concerned with being perfectly law-abiding citizens still do 55 in a 50 because 50 is just stupid. It's so slow, it's completely ridiculous.

To a certain extent I understand with these enormously tall tanks that you see on the road now. You can't do 100 in a 50. That's fair enough. 100 is pretty fast but it's definitely doable in a car that isn't a tank and it's doable comfortably on most roads, certainly straight roads. Maybe you have to slow down a bit to 80 or 75 for a bend but it's completely doable. It's completely safe when you have normal weather conditions and all that. Obviously when there's worse weather you need to take it easy but the speed limit shouldn't be set for a fucking blizzard.

The only time when you would actually do 50 is if the road is completely frozen over then I might, I dare say, do 40 but nobody does the speed limit because everyone knows it's a complete farce. Guards don't do the speed limit. Gards speed more than anyone else. Gards go 60 to 70 in a 50 because are you gonna pull over a gard? Well no, obviously not. It's stupid especially on the likes of the N11 where the speed limit could easily be 140 with no particular issue once you get out of the traffic light hell from the suburbs.
