Should I try to reach out an old friend?
I will try to be short here. I had really good friend named Alex. We are the same age(22F). I can tell it’s hard to find a friend like that, also I never used to have lot of friends.
We don’t talk for a year now. I decided to not call her one day and she obviously was fine with this, because she never called again. That is the main sign for me that she was also not fine in the friendship.
So what happened- I don’t know. I started feeling jealousy and some behind back talks for me. I started feeling bad when someone complimented only me, not her. When somebody showed interest in me, bought me drinks, wanted to take me on a date etc.
I was feeling obsessed. Became passive aggressive when I tell “this night I’m out with another friend of mine” In the same time trying to talk the things out never happened. It always ended up much worse, and I got tired of this constant tension
That’s the short story. I realise that maybe I just have hard time finding new friends and that’s why I think about her. I don’t want to end the things like that, it feels like something is unfinished here. Like I need to go and try to explain how I felt again.
But I don’t want to be the main topic of her and her new friends. I know how Alex used to talk bad about her previous friends with me and even spoil personal information. I know that most of the people around her already see me like the villain here, and I don’t want to make it worse
What do you think? Should I reach out and ask her to go get coffee? After a year of silence? Or I should just try to keep going and find new people to hang out with
