Anubis from Song of the Crimson Nile. π¦
π¬ Interesting fact:
Anubis remembers very little of his former life. Like all beings who descend into the Duat, his memories slowly faded away so that nothing would pull him back from the realm beyond. Childhood, adolescence β all of it disappeared once he became the ruler of the underworld, and later, its guardian. The only thing he never forgot was the murmur of a cool river, the rustling of greenery, the clear sky, and the sound of his own childhood crying. Even then, loneliness had already become his constant companion. But Anubis was warmed by the touch of gentle hands when Isis found the abandoned child and held him close to her chest. That loneliness returned to him once more when he took upon himself the role of guardian of the dead.
