[VICTORY POST] 1948 Case recognized — Tribunal of Naples | GGGP line, no minor issue, ~28 months total
Hi everyone,
Long-time lurker, first-time poster. This community was invaluable to me throughout this journey, so I wanted to give back with a full data point.
The line:
GGGF/GGGM → GGM → GM → Mother → Me + siblings
Case type: 1948 case, no minor issue
Recognized: My mother, myself, and my two siblings — 4 of us in total
Process started: January 2024
Filed: March 3, 2025
Decision: May 21, 2026
Total time start to finish: ~28 months
Time from filing to decision: ~14.5 months
Court: Tribunal of Naples
Judge: Domenico Mocerino
Biggest challenges:
CONEs from USCIS for my two ancestors (GGGF and GGGM) were by far the most painful part of the document gathering phase. Submitted February 2024, received December 2024 — 10 months. If you haven't started these yet, do it immediately. Federal government Apostilles were also slower than expected, running about 2 months from submission.
Lawyer: Marco Bersani — Bersani Law Firm & Partners
Marco handled everything on the Italian side — sourcing vital records, translations, and all court filings. We only had to deal with our US documents. I'd use him again without hesitation.
Happy to answer any questions. In bocca al lupo to everyone still in the process.
