Entry level Yamaha horn: used or new?

Hi, I'd like to buy my first trumpet, and decided to stick to Yamaha products. I'm facing the following dillema, as my budget is not too big.

• new YTR 2330 - more expensive, but a secure choice
• used YTR 232 - there are a lot of them on the local market

I'm worried that while the used horns might be cheaper, I may overook some issues with the used instruments due to my inexperience and spend more getting it repaired. Is it worth buying a new horn, or a well-cared-for older model would be as good? What should I look for when buying an old instrument?
