WARNING: My €3,200 HP OMEN MAX 16 (RTX 5090) just bricked itself. HP is refusing their Global Warranty. I’m stranded and need executive contacts!
Hey everyone. I never thought I’d be writing one of these nightmare support posts, but I am completely desperate and out of options. I’m hoping someone here has gone through something similar or has some direct email contacts for HP’s higher-ups.
I bought a top-of-the-line HP OMEN MAX 16 (Intel Core Ultra 9 / i9, RTX 5090, 64GB RAM) in Spain for €3,200. It’s an absolute beast, and I use it strictly for heavy professional work, not just gaming.
At the beginning of the month, the laptop just shut off and died completely. I immediately took it to the main, official HP Flagship Service Center here in Manila, Philippines, where I am currently located.
After diagnostics, they confirmed my worst fear: the motherboard is completely dead. As many of you on this sub already know, this model suffers from a massive manufacturing flaw where the factory liquid metal thermal paste leaks/degrades and causes a fatal short circuit on the board.
Because I bought this in Spain, I have an active Global Warranty. But instead of ordering the part or helping me, the Manila service center simply closed my ticket (Case #5159337984) after dragging it out.
Their excuse? They said the replacement motherboard (Part Number: HP P29646-601) is "out of stock in the Asian region" and that they "cannot help me further."
I checked the official HP Maintenance Guides. That exact motherboard is a universally standardized part for both the 16-ak0xxx and 16-ah0xxx series worldwide. It’s not a region-locked component! Yet, HP refuses to:
- Do a cross-regional part transfer from Europe/US to Manila.
- Provide a prepaid international shipping label so I can send it back to HP Spain for repair.
Basically, they are telling me to pay hundreds of euros out of my own pocket to ship their defective, €3200 brick back to Europe if I want my warranty honored.
This isn't just an inconvenience. I lost access to all my crucial work software, communication tools, and contacts. Because the laptop has been sitting dead for weeks, I even spent my birthday on May 27th completely isolated without access to part of my personal and professional accounts, and my ability to earn a living is currently paralyzed. I am stuck in a foreign country with a €3,200 paperweight and a multi-billion dollar company ghosting me.
Has anyone successfully escalated a case like this? I am begging for any direct email addresses for HP Executive Customer Relations, the CEO's office, or any high-level escalation team that actually has the power to override regional service centers.
Any advice, contacts, or upvotes for visibility would mean the world to me right now.
