Why can't Ai be put to industry instead of entertainment?
Shortening attention spans from short form content is being made worse by the flood of it in magnitudes by generative Ai. The sheer scale is what makes it worse than TikToc on it's own, my opinions on why the platform should be demolished aside.
No matter how impressive, Ai will always be synonomouswith brainrot so long as it is within the entertainment sphere overshadowing any potential real innovation in Industries like engineering or medicine.
The Arts serve an important role in exercising the brain and fine motor dexterity, Digital art still accomplishing this while being transferable to the traditional arts and vice versa, many who do create art themselves drawing in both forms, it primarily just skips the middleman of having to buy a scanner or angle a camera just right to share it.
Does prompt writing transfer into writing a book or even an essay without it? I am open to examples but all observations point to no.
Currently, Ai is still largely useless in engineering, it could be useful one day but only if built in that direction, instead the current direction is optimizing Charlie Kirk advertising gambling platforms, you can argue both are possible but on the macro level, it often is not, analogous to how NeoLibs and NeoCons say we can fund war AND getting the lead out of our water but the tap water is still very much leaded.
