Can a relationship really become this comfortable and family-like ?
I’m a 27M unmarried guy, and I had a dream that felt strangely powerful.
In the dream, my wife (imagined, not someone real) was casually sleeping with her head on my mother’s lap while all of us were sitting together watching TV. Nothing dramatic was happening, but the feeling of that moment was so peaceful, warm, and comforting that it stayed with me even after waking up.
When I woke up, I felt both happy and sad. Happy because the image felt beautiful… but sad because it also felt almost impossible in real life.
My mother is genuinely a kind woman. She once told me, “I may become a good mother-in-law, but I may never become a mother to someone else’s daughter.” That line stayed with me, and maybe that’s why this dream affected me so much.
So I wanted to ask people who are married or have seen healthy families closely — can something like this actually happen in real life?
Not the exact scene, but that level of comfort, acceptance, and emotional warmth between a wife and husband’s family?
