Psychiatrist Recommendations

Hi all,

I am looking for recommendations on psychiatrists that listen, trust and aren’t trying to push you onto new medications.

I have ADHD and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I have been taking Adderall daily for the past 10+ years and Xanax as needed for the better part of the last 4-5 years. My previous Dr recently moved to a concierge program and I have been bouncing around drs trying to establish care for the past 18 months.

I am incredibly frustrated with how many (most) doctors are seemingly trying to move me onto new medications despite my longstanding stability and history on my current regiment.

The doses of both medications are low. I don’t do well with SSRIs (suicidal ideation) and the alternative medicines either don’t work or produce worse side effects than the disorder itself.

Running out of hope that I will find a good psych that understands their patients and isn’t trying to push the “latest alternative”

Any recommendations/experiences would be much appreciated
