views stuck in the single digits after months of consistent uploads
i have a gaming channel that ive posting longform and shortform videos to consistently since january. im very aware of the fact that my content is a little crunchy, for lack of a better word, as im still learning, but ive tried my best to include a hook in the first 30 seconds, make eye catching thumbnails and titles, and make highly edited fast paced videos to keep people engaged.
my most viewed video has 1.3k views, but a few weeks ago i started a daily series playing animal crossing and it completely tanked my viewership. after 6 days, i got the hint that no one wanted to watch this type of content and eventually deleted the videos since they only had 2-5 views each and i didnt want people coming across my channel for the first time to think i only play that one game. my last three videos have been the same type of stuff i was posting before, but im not getting nearly as much engagement as i was before my daily play series.
i usually post shorts in the 2 days after each longform video to help promote them, but my shorts arent getting much reach either. i feel like the algorithm has put in a weird hole and i dont know how to climb out.
all this to say, id really appreciate if someone could take a look at my channel and give me some honest feedback. what can i do to improve my thumbnails? are my videos too "general", should i be tackling a more narrow niche? is my editing style offputting? am i just unfunny? or is the algorithm just not showing my videos to people because im new?
anyway, heres my channel if you wanna check it out. https://youtube.com/@calvins\_corner?si=NY\_\_lXSohI8voqiU happy to share my opinions on your channel too if youd like.
